Elizabeth North Primary School

Our vision is to inspire a community of learners to achieve personal greatness

Our values are: Pride, Persistence and Responsibility

ENPS

Elizabeth North Primary School was established in 1958 due to overcrowding at the Elizabeth South Primary School. The first Headmaster was Mr Allen Wood. The school started with 200 enrolments and quickly grew to about 700 students within a few years.

In 2008 the Broadmeadows Primary School closed and the majority of students enrolled at Elizabeth North. A new preschool was built in 2010 and enrolments steadily increased from 44 to over 100 children in 2017. Increased preschool enrolments has impacted on school enrolments, which has grown from 400 to 650 students in 2019.

Elizabeth North is a welcoming school that prides itself on being inclusive and caring for all students and families. In recent years the school has seen an increase in the percentage of Aboriginal students and students from a non-English speaking background. The school has a number of community based events and these are well supported by families.

Elizabeth North aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum and has specialist teaching instruction in science, music and physical education. English and maths teaching is based on explicit teaching. Intervention staff work closely with class teachers to provide a differentiated learning program that meets the diverse learning needs of all students.

Our vision is to inspire a community of learners to achieve personal greatness. We aim to achieve this vision through promoting the school values, which are:

Persistence – giving things a ‘go’ and not giving up when things get difficult or challenging.

Pride – being proud of yourself, your effort and being a member of the Elizabeth North Primary School and community.

Responsibility – taking ownership of the decisions that are made and for the effort that is given to improve learning.

We expect that all members of the Elizabeth North Primary School demonstrate these values through their interactions with each other and with the school.
