About the Coronavirus Pandemic
Given the continuing and evolving situation regarding the Corona Virus-COVID-19, I would like to advise you that from tomorrow it would be preferred if parents / carers did not enter the classrooms at the beginning and end of the day. This is primarily to support current social distancing expectations and assisting us to minimize risk to staff and students.
Please drop your child off at the beginning of the day (outside of classrooms) and meet them outside the classrooms to pick up at the end of the day, whenever possible
In making this request, we keep in mind that we don’t want to cause any undue stress or worry to the students or parents; therefore, if you need to accompany your child into classrooms, please do so with social distancing in mind.
At the end of the day students and parents are requested to leave the school as soon as possible after the bell to meet social distancing guidelines.
If you do need to make contact with staff at any time, we certainly encourage you do so but phone calls, using class dojo and emails are preferred.
Please note that all external services such as Talking Matters and Autism SA have ceased their work in schools until further notice.
The state and federal government, under the advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee does not support the closure of schools and preschools and as a consequence will remain open for the time being.
If you choose to keep your child(ren) at home you are requested to inform the school of the reason for doing so and if it’s due to concerns about the virus the reason for absence will be recorded as ‘family.’ Please note that teachers are continuing to develop online work that will be made accessible through class dojo or other negotiated means. In the case of parents not being able to access the internet some ‘hard copy’ work will be provided and this will be available to collect from the front office. Please contact the school if you require a hard copy of work for your child(ren) to do. The school will not post this out or deliver it to homes.
If your child(ren) is at home it is expected that s/he is in your personal care or that or a responsible adult at all times and not out in the community playing with friends. This will place your child(ren) at greater risk of contracting the virus than being at school.
I appreciate your understanding and support at this time. We will continue to communicate with you when further information becomes available.
The site Our Learning SA is now available. This site will provide materials and activities across all learning areas for online learning.
